Similar to find the perfect partner - finding the perfect jeans pair, also needs taking pain. There is wide range of quality in jeans, such as of washing, of cuts and of fitting and so on. The list continues with the trimming, accessories etc… However, once upon a time it was simply used as basic working-man’s pant which now turned into symbol of style, art and status. Let us understand this everlasting clothing item and find out what to mull over before making mind to buy a pair of jeans.
Quality Difference
For the person, who is not acquainted so much about fabrics, usually assumes quality by the feel of fabric. The feel of denim fabric, which is smooth and has a little moisture, usually considered as made with good-quality cotton, whether the denim is raw. There are many processes in manufacturing, such as the traditional way that is known as right-hand twill and left-hand twill, as well as there is ringspun, a double ringspun, broken left-hand twill, cross-hatch, double ringspun etc... Additionally, there are other processes like stitching, accessorizing and others. There are chiefly two methods to sew the side-seam - overlock stitch and open seams. In the open seam, the seams are taken at outer-side of the legs and then pressed flat. Where as, in the overlocked stitch is sewn the two pieces of fabric together. The fact is, everybody wishes to have perfect pair of jeans that makes them look nice, but there is always price barrier. Thus understanding the quality prior to spending hundreds of dollars on a pair of worthless jeans is recommended.
Raw Denim Trend
Not all denims are similar, however, is fact that all started journey from being raw denim. Hence, picking the raw denim reduces the cost of washing, which would pull down the price of the denim. The garment market is so flooded with the brands from US and Europe that brands from other countries has to struggle to establish by trying coming up with new ideas and new trends. In fashion industry, trends come in cyclical manner. We had witnessed the trends of raw denim in the last decade, then faded jeans, then washed denim came, dirty jeans, ripped denim, and now the raw denim trend is back again. The pair of raw denim would be conventional to the body and the movements, thus the wearer feels particular pressure points at knees, thighs and hips, but the moment it is washed it would lose that effect, and the wearer has to reform them again. However, if we go in technical terms – if it is never washed (that would be bit impossible), would gradually fades out and becomes completely customized to wearers’ body.
Different Washes For Jeans
Washing is the procedure, where the maximum cost of manufacturing goes, as there are particular procedures that machine does and rest would be done by hand. There are some individuals in manufacturing unit, making a grate or a puncture on each pair, and here the labor costs come in. The more processes the more expensive the pair of jeans would be. That’s the reason why a pair destroyed jeans is so expensive, as a factory worker has to tear it with the machine, then wash it up and rip it again, and this cycle is repeated many times to make the pair of jeans a look of old and teared.
Aspects Behind Price Difference
• Fabric Different brand’s cost differs, as there are various aspects and factors, which are taken while manufacturing a pair of jeans, for example there is single fiber which goes in one direction and other fiber goes in another direction, called the knitting process. These fibers are produced from the usual spinning cotton, and some are derived from a specific spindle, known as ring spun that rolls out excellent finished fabric, however, it is expensive process. • Cutting and Adding Accessories Above process is followed by cutting the fabric, sewing, and adding the accessories such as zippers, buttons, rivets, pockets, loops, etc… There are some companies, which utilizes nickel buttons and rivets that are of low price, although some uses expensive ones, even 18-karat gold-plated buttons which certainly makes massive difference in the price of a pair of jeans. • Washing Then, there is the washing process, which consumes major part of cost after manufacturing a pair of jeans. There are various types and techniques of washing denim, which often costs more than all other aspects like the fabric, cutting and sewing. As a result, each addition to enhance the looks and quality adds more cost to the final product. • Marketing and Advertising Excluding the technical part of the manufacturing, marketing and advertising holds lions share in deciding the price of final product. The marketing and advertising with celebrity wearers - adds more ability to certain brands to price higher for their products assortments. This enables the products to become an expensive status symbol and esteemed purchase. In fact, an excellent quality pair of jeans would always survive in any season and would lasts longer. Estimating Price For A Pair Of Jeans If the budget is to spend not more than 300 USD then some brands like H&M and Zara have definitely something to offer a better deal. The only thing is to understand that there is no comparison between a pair of jeans from Zara with Diesel jeans, as the quality and workmanship in the two are completely different. Everybody wishes a good pair jeans at budget prices, however they are likely to spend more dough on a good pair of jeans, if the pair is meant for them.
