‘Denim’ has been synonymous with ‘jeans’ for time immemorial. It is not possible to separate one meaning from the other. This would indicate easily how famous, popular and in demand this particular garment is to society. Initially, denim jeans were only used as casual wear; however things are changing and now denim jeans are entering the boardrooms of large corporations in the form of ‘casual-formals,’ Casual-formals are specifically designed for those people to whom comfort and elegance mean the same thing.

Answering to the ever-growing demand for denim jeans, there is a mushrooming effect on the growth of denim industries all over the world as well as in designer collections. The popularity of denim jeans being what it is today, designers have gone crazy with their denim lines. Denim jeans with a designer label demand exorbitant prices. After all, unlike other garments, denim jeans can fit in anywhere.

The denim jeans’ popularity has had a ripple effect with other items that complement their use, such as denim handbags, shirts (both for men and women), skirts, shorts, shoes and sandals, the list could go on. It seems that wherever you turn you can find something to wear or use that is made of denim. However, far from suffering from over-exposure, the popularity of denim jeans is growing at a phenomenal rate.
